Prince Galen

Prince of Stormrise, most ferocious swordsmen in the Kingdom.

Backstory

Growing up in the Kingdom of Stormrise hasn’t always been as easy as it may seem nowadays. A prospering Kingdom bearing sufficient resources, cemented in diplomatic relations on the continent. Galen is the eldest child of the current monarchs, an arranged marriage that secured their lineage early on. A thriving kingdom with young rulers and a strong and healthy successor proved to be a powerful combination.

There was virtually no pressure for Galen to become the next king. At the age of 14, Galen started his physical training to lead the Royal Guard come his 18th birthday, a position held by the Eldest son of Stormrise as of course is tradition.

His formative years went by calmly. Both his younger sisters were sent off to be married to some other kingdom or duchy. Galen escaped his arranged fate as there were no princesses of suitable age that would be a possible ally to Stormrise. The Prince thoroughly enjoyed his position, started training more heavily and took his guards across the kingdom. Crime rates plummeted to an all time low and Galen’s formidable sword skills became renowned across the land. 

Galen escorted the king and queen with his loyal guards to the 16th birthday of Princess Seraphina of Moonbrook. His younger brother, captivated by the stories of the beautiful princess, insisted on joining. Galen observed the room and saw his brother made an absolute fool of himself as he tried to kiss the young princess, only to be met with a formidable rejection. Amused by his brother's enthusiasm, Galen contemplated his own future.

A couple of weeks later Galen would turn 30. He decided he would host a yearly trial in which the best swordsmen in the kingdom could prove their mettle.

The last couple of months consisted of patrolling the borders of Stormrise, aiding the people of Moonbrook ,protecting them against the imminent threat of an Orc raid. And now, out of the blue, he and his closest guards have been asked to escort princess Seraphina to safety, for they are to be married…
