Backstory

A gifted duelist, Brienne joined the Stormrise city guards at the remarkably young age of 15, determined to ascend the ranks to become a Knight. No one could land a blow on her thanks to her agile footwork. Yet, her small physique proved to be an obstacle on her path to knighthood, leading to her reassignment to the Royal Guard of Stormrise at the age of 17. 

A few months later, during one of her nightly watch duties, Brienne found herself face to face with an Orc warrior who dared to enter the grounds of the palace. Showing her potential by single-handedly besting the intruder. The news of her courage spread through the castle, and she was handpicked for a trial, a test to determine if she had what it takes to be one of Prince Galen's personal guards. 

The challenge presented to her was both simple yet seemed impossible: withstand the prince in a one-on-one duel for more than a minute. No one had ever been able to succesfully complete the trial ever since Prince Galen initiated them. Galen is famous for being one of the most ferocious swordsmen in Stormrise. Yet, Brienne, relying on her wits, managed to stay out of Galen's reach. The duel unfolded into a spectacle lasting an impressive 17 minutes until Prince Galen, thoroughly amused, sat down on the ground and burst into laughter. Brienne fell to her knees completely exhausted, gasping for air. The Prince started clapping with a smile on his face, trying to catch his own breath. To her surprise Prince Galen recognised her exceptional skills. Brienne was rewarded with an unique honor: she became his personal squire. 

Since that day she would accompany him on every mission as a guardian of the Kingdom of Stormrise.
